About

My name is Aric Jorn (born Aric Jorn Liljegren). I’ve been telling stories my entire life – through art, theater, writing and music.

I have a passion for mythology, history and the wonderfully varied cultures of the world, and I love mixing these three elements whenever possible. The road I have taken to create a career in the arts has been long and winding path, filled with trials, challenges and the occasional triumph.

I received my B.F.A. from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan with a major in illustration and a minor in art history.

My first and only job in mainstream corporate America was found at one of the oldest and largest advertising agencies in the world, J. Walter Thompson. In my nine years there, I rose to the lofty height of Partner and Senior Art Director/Producer. I had a window office on the 24th floor in Downtown Chicago, overlooking Lake Michigan.

After nearly ten years, I walked away from my career to start my own marketing business that catered to non-profit environmental organizations doing work for the National Park Service, Rocky Mountain National Park, Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Chicago Heritage Corridor, and many others. Even though this gave me the freedom from working for a big company, I still felt empty.

In 2008, I closed my business to focus on the one thing I was all along – an artist. Now I explore the stories of the ancient world (as well as modern tales) and bring them to life through sculpture and the written word.

I invite you to visit my Etsy store to see my most current work.
